It’s been a number of months since @macsporrans was launched on twitter. Over that time there has been a lot of great content along our time line. Items that are of particular interest, or that we feel you may like, have been re-tweeted. There are a number of people who for various reasons we recommend following, so this list highlights our top ten.
1. @tourscotland is a feed giving the best tourism information on Scotland. It’s bespoke and personal and Sandy is happy to pass on his wealth of knowledge. Amazing pictures of Scotland are also posted as Sandy goes about his travels.
2 @NtlMuseumsScot. The twitter feed of National Museums Scotland, this is updated regularly and full of interesting and often random information about the collections held and the museums themselves.
3 @wedatlochlomond not only provides useful information about weddings in Loch Lomond but gives great tips on general wedding planning and events happening in and around Loch Lomond.
4 @causeimscottish You may have seen the hash tag #causeimscottish on a number of tweets. It often follows random quotes which makes Scots so amazing. For a funny and interesting take on what’s happening in Scotland.
5@ScotlandRT This feed searches through the best of what Scotland has to offer. If people are talking about it in Scotland, ScotlandRT will do what it says on the tin and re-tweet it.
6 @SteelersRugby This feed is updated frequently and not just during matches like other feeds. Gives great views on rugby and competitions throughout the world. Although the primary focus will always be Scotland.
7 @HowToEnjoyEDIN. A great local feed trawling through twitter to bring you an daily guide of what’s happening in Edinburgh. They publish daily blogs in a number of interests, including fashion, arts, film , health and politics.
8 @caledoniacowboy. A piper and speaker from Glasgow who always has something interesting to say. He is making a number of guest appearances around Scotland so keep a watch on his twitter feed and pay him a visit.
9 @whisky4everyone. There are numerous twitter feeds dedicated to the love of whisky, but whisky4everyone finds what is relevant, included links to tasting notes and highlights who else we should be following.
10 @homecoming09qmu is a feed with personality. They often tweet links to interesting articles and even the odd quiz. Always staying with a Scottish theme, homecoming09qmu is a must for anyone with an interest in all things Scottish.
People who tweet useful and informative posts often are great to follow and are of benefit to our time line. These people give information free of charge to the twitter community without pushing sales upon us. A great tag on twitter is the #followfriday of #FF where you can let us know who @macsporrans and the twitter community should be following.
