Who are we?

Our Story

We’re a small team who love what we do. Our two stores are built from the heart. We create places we would love to shop. And we try to make the experience a little bit special.

We’re based in Leith, the old sea port of Edinburgh. We’re run by husband and wife team Emma and Fergus.

Eagle & Fox came to life in 2004, under the name Macdonald Sporrans.

As One Door Closes, Another Door Opens…

We made a pretty bold decision in our 2016 strategy meeting – to remove virtually all our listings from eBay. When we started selling sporrans on eBay in 2004, we were one of the first, if not the first, to do so as a business. Most trade on eBay at the time was personal sales…

New Name, New Direction

New Name, New Direction

Today we changed our company name. We’ve been called Macdonald Sporrans for over 11 years and I would love to tell you that name came from some divine inspiration or marketing strategy, but it really didn’t. My surname is Macdonald and I started off selling sporrans, I think we can say there wasn’t a huge…

What’s it all about? You know what I mean?

We got a new member of the team last year, so it’s about time that he gets a proper welcome. Alfie came into the world on 1st October 2014 and into our lives on the 23rd November. On his first day with us, he got to witness the final F1 race of 2014 and watched…

New Boss in Town

New Boss in Town

This June the business celebrated its 10 year anniversary. A huge amount has happened over the last 10 years. We’ve gone from being a 1 man business run from my bedroom, to a team of people working from our own 15,000 square foot retail/warehouse space. Another thing happened this year, I got married!

All Moved In

All Moved In

We’re now fully moved into our new premises… and loving it. We ended up doing the bulk of the move on a Wednesday evening. Pushing through late into the night seemed like a better idea than sacrificing a weekend. Because our old and new premises were very close, we cut down on travel time a…
